هُوَ الَّذِي جَعَلَ الشَّمْسَ ضِيَاءً وَالْقَمَرَ نُورًا وَقَدَّرَهُ مَنَازِلَ لِتَعْلَمُوا عَدَدَ السِّنِينَ وَالْحِسَابَ
It is He Who made the sun a shining thing and the moon as a light and measured out for it stages that you might know the number of years and the reckoning.
(Surah Yunus 10:5)
Countries in the Northern Hemisphere usually have four distinct seasons whilst countries closer to the Equator experience a hotter climate with little seasonal variation.
Changing weather patterns, crop growth and animal habits and migrations often mark the changing of the seasons.
