The Alphabet

The English language alphabet consists of 26 letters. This is made up of five vowels: A, E, I, O, and U and twenty-one consonants. The letters all make their own individual sounds. Combinations of letters can produce other sounds, referred to as digraphs, diphthongs and blends.
